Title Sequence Concept

Ragnar: Echoes of the Fallen

Ragnar is a conceptual title sequence for a fictional series set in a mythic Northern world. The sequence visualizes a warrior’s inner landscape — memory, fate, and the lingering shadow of the past. Told through ink, smoke, and motion, it evokes a tactile, painterly aesthetic where hand-drawn textures merge with digital compositing. The flowing, wind-like lines act as traces of what once was — movements of thought, memory, and emotion suspended in air.

Design Breakdown

Typography & Animation

The typography in Ragnar was designed to feel embedded within the world rather than placed on top of it. A condensed sans-serif typeface provides a modern, minimal counterpoint to the painterly textures — grounding the visuals without referencing the Norse setting too literally. The letterforms sit within the same material space as the imagery, their edges breaking down through texture maps and displacement to create a sense of erosion and age.

Each title appears through abrasion and surface change rather than traditional transitions. The motion feels organic, as if the names are revealed by the same forces shaping the environment — ink, wind, and time. This approach lets typography and imagery share a single visual language, where text becomes part of the memory and material of the world.
